Humanitarian and Socio‑Economic Impact-
Latest reports confirm at least 618 deaths due to the cyclone and associated flooding/landslides. A significant number of people remain missing — with estimates of over 190 unaccounted for at certain stages. The disaster displaced a massive portion of the population: over 1.4 million people, from more than 407,000 families, across all 25 districts. Among them, over 275,000 children were identified as severely affected, with risks ranging from loss of shelter, disruption of essential services, food insecurity, and heightened exposure to health hazards.
Damage to Homes and Infrastructure-
Thousands of homes have been destroyed or damaged: initial estimates mentioned over 15,000 homes destroyed.
Infrastructure losses include power‑lines, water treatment and purification systems, roads, and bridges — causing widespread disruption of electricity, clean water, and communications.
