In a statement, the Prime Minister's office said the two leaders have reviewed progress
in the India-U.S. Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.
They've exchanged views on expanding cooperation and trade, critical technologies, energy, defense and security.
The statement goes on to say that both leaders have agreed to work closely
to address shared challenges and advance common interests.
This is the first phone call between both leaders since the 22nd of October
when they spoke on the occasion of Diwali.
The Prime Minister also tweeting, saying that he had a warm conversation with President Trump.
Remember, this conversation is important because it comes in the backdrop of the current ongoing negotiations
on the framework agreement as well as the conversations and the talks on the India-U.S. trade deal.
The Commerce Minister so far has said that there will be no deadline that India will comply with.
It will only do a deal as and when it feels it is mutually beneficial.
So the current trade delegation in India is not here for a negotiating round,
is the clarification that's coming from the Commerce Minister.
But this is important, a conversation between the two leaders,
Prime Minister Modi dialing President Trump and speaking with him for the first time since Diwali.
